Enrichment Session Details

Assessment. I stayed on opposite side of cage from JJ. After speaking to him briefly I opened the door a crack so I could see him. He was looking at me from his box but not staring, his pupils were dilated but he did not seem overly tense. He watched the wand toy when I dragged it around on my side and when I gently slid it over to him he sniffed it then watched it with cautious curiosity when I dragged it away. He did flinch and growl once when I flicked the wand toy a little bit too hard and too close to him. Recovered fairly quickly. Sniffed wand toy when It had catnip on it but didn't engage further. Ate squeeze treat I offered on the stick end of the wand toy right away, then ate several more blobs. I stirred up his wet food and he came slightly forward to eat it. He watched the wand toy again after and I gave him one last blob of squeeze treat to end the visit. He turned away from me a couple of times when there was noise in the room but only to watch what was going on through the hole in his box, recovered right away and watched what I was doing.
